Spooky Halloween Window

Upcycled Vintage Window, thrift store metal base with faux vintage mirror diy

I orginally published a creepy window for Halloween a few weeks ago but since my email wasn’t working I’m not sure how many people actually saw it.  The technique was so easy that when my sister offered me a couple more vintage windows I knew just what to do with them.

I’ll refer you back to my original tutorial for all the gory little DIY details but you can start  gathering your supplies.  What you’ll need is an old window, black spray paint, Rust-Oleum Mirror Spray, spray adhesive, paper towel for blotting, small spray bottle with a mixture of half vinegar and half water and a black and white creepy photo.

This was my original window, again, you can find the complete tutorial here.  As creepy as this window looks, it looks even creepier better in person.

So for my two new windows I decided to go with dolls instead of the woman’s photograph.  If clowns creep you out, that’s an idea too.

This creepy lady was not really supposed to be creepy.  She’s actually a victorian bisque doll head being sold on Etsy.  Her lack of eyes puts her into the spooky category.

Converted to black and white and the edges darkened, she is now ready for her Halloween window debut.

Print the doll head on a full sheet of paper and use black spray paint to darken the edges, and of course go back to that original window for the full tutorial.

Here she is with the full mercury glass effect.  See what I mean about the lack of eyes?

My second head is another doll head , I believe it was from  Ebay though I couldn’t find the original listing.

She too, got the black and white creepy treatment with the crack in her head just adding to her look.

If your window has already been cleaned you could probably create this Halloween decor in less than 10 minutes.

Have fun and stay inspired.
