Wooden knobs Makeover diy
A dresser I bought from the local Salvation Army came complete with a laminate top, chippy paint (and not in a good way) and a full set of wooden drawer knobs.
Wanting a knob with a little more pop but not wanting to break the bank on new knobs, I decided to use what I had and transform them into something a little unique, something with a little pizzazz, a little sparkle, a little oomph.
So, with Sculpey clay ( the kind that gets hard in the oven), my knobs and a stamp in hand, I went to work. This clay was in a metallic bronze and the stamp did not have to be a picture of something, I just wanted some texture. I would also need black paint and a glue gun.
The wooden knobs were painted black to go with my dresser.
The sculpey clay was rolled out, first into a snake, then flattened with a rolling pin.
Squares were cut, and then stamped.
These were baked in the oven for 20 minutes.
To get the texture to stand out, painted each clay piece with black acrylic paint and immediately wiped off before it dried.
The only step left is to hot glue the clay pieces onto the wooden knobs.
