23 Recycled Silverware Creations

Last week I shared with you a few ideas for recycling and upcycling old silverware.  Once you start googling on the internet , you’ll start getting bombarded with ALL the silverware creations.  OK, maybe not all, but I did get a lot.  Today I’m bringing you 23 of those upcycled silverware creations.    I think they are all on ETSY, or at least most of them are, and I’ve tried to include a link back to each of these artists or sellers sites.  If you’re interested in any of these ideas and don’t want to create one of your own, I’m sure each of these creators would be glad to have you visit.

When you think of silverware do you automatically think of birds or elephants or jewelry or dancing skeletons.  I don’t either.  I tend to just use my silverware to eat my food, weird I know, but after reading this post you just might have a whole new appreciation for those forks and knives and spoons that you keep sticking in your mouth.

I would also encourage you to hold onto Grandma’s silver or silver plate as you contemplate all the things you could create. Wouldn’t it be cool to create a ring or bracelet from Grandma’s old spoon that you could keep with you always.  Or a pendant to hang close to your heart?

For all the birders in my family, I’m starting the silverware journey with this spoon bird chickadee sculpture  from RockinOKRanch.  Besides these bird sculptures, RockinOKRanch sells a bunch of earrings with recycled materials and license plate notebooks.

HappyappleGB  created this beautiful fork and spoon robin.

This pair of fork/spoon people are being sold by Flipnsidehustle.  Don’t think this is the original artist as Flipnsidehustle has a bunch of miscellaneous collectibles in their Etsy shop.

From SpoonsenForksen are these earrings made from the ends of silverplated spoons.  These are created from antique spoons.  Check out her Etsy shop for more earrings, bracelets and even watches from old cutlery.

From VictorFritchartbeats comes this adorable little frog.  Victor has also created lizards, a penguin, a pig, a sun, a lion , a mouse.  If you can think it, he has probably already created it.

This upcycled knife magnetic bud vase is from DriftingNotLost.   Cut off the handle of a silver plated knife, sand down the edges, add a magnet and you have a sweet little bud vase.

Drifting not lost not only has these bud vases in their shop but they also have rings and necklaces and a few items made from driftwood.

While this snail is from Creations Welded on Etsy, they also sell some old vintage silverware in their shop, if you can’t find it at your local thrift or Grandma’s dining room.

This  sunflower also comes from Creations Welded   combining 4 forks and 4 spoons .  Perfect for the garden.

Jjevensen has these upcycled butter knife , spoon and fork hooks.  While his Etsy shop does have a lot of hooks, you’ll also find a napkin holder, business card holder and even drawer pulls.

Also from Jjevensen are more hooks from upcycled forks, these with personality.

The end of a knife is now a super sweet pendant.  This one is from  GroovyGrapeGlass who right now has 7 versions of this knife end bird house in their shop as well as other earrings made from recycled materials.

Another pendant, this one created from a fork from Dremeworks.  Check out his Etsy shop for lots of  spoon rings, a fork ring and even a camel.

A floral spoon handle is now a beautiful pendant.  This one is  from Spoonfest Jewelry. Lots of jewelry at this shop, including pendants, bracelets and earrings.

Also from SpoonfestJewelry is this happy little fork elephant pendant.

This ring, created from the handle of a spoon is from SilverPhoenixcreate. Silver Phoenix says that if you send her your old spoon she’ll transform it into a custom ring just for you.

Another spoon ring from SilverPhoenixcreate.  The end of the spoon has been hammered flat and makes up the inner part of the ring.

From ParagonLaserworks, this Oneida spoon bracelet closes with a magnetic clasp. Paragon Laserworks  also offers silverware engraving.  They also have a bunch of beautiful bracelets, some earrings and even a silver cross.

Jewelry doesn’t have to be made from just spoons.  These fork tines wrap around your wrist from MarchelloArt. Never have I seen a fork so artistic and elegant.

Since we’re just getting into fall, I’ll finish up with a few Halloween inspired silverware creations.  A skeleton  measures  22 ish inches tall.  This one is from RalphPossa1. Love the fork tine ribs.

While Ralph did have this dancing skeleton  in his shop he also creates much larger upcycled metal creations such as a horseshoe donkey and a railroad spike lizard.

A spoon bat with fork tine ears is from QsRingsandThings.  If you want to check this shop out, Q also has a fork ghost in her shop and spoon wind chimes.

This multi tined spider is from WorkHardWorms.  This guy has at least 2 spoons going on and very forky legs.  The Etsy site has a few upcycled silverware creations, a bunch of birdhouses and many things for the garden.

Was that enough inspiration?  A few of these creations I think I could create, others require a little more finesse, some soldering and even some special tools.

After creating one little peace sign fork last week I have  determined that bending fork tines is not the easiest of tasks.  For bending spoons into rings or bracelets it looks like you’ll need a ring bender  tool, available from Amazon.  For smaller bends, start with needle nose pliers and a metal straw.  For cutting,  a Dremel with a cutting blade comes in very handy.  A grinder will also cut but it lacks the precision of the Dremel.  You’ll also need a sander to cut off the excess burrs.  Other than some old silverware, any or all of these tools should get you started on your own creations.
