Display Collectibles with Easy Pallet Wood Shelf
I have easy projects that take only minutes to create and harder projects you may be working on for days. This is one of those easy projects, a pallet wood shelf to house your collectibles. In this case it’s holding my son’s soccer trophies and some other knick knacks he chose to put on the lower shelf.
Probably the hardest part of this project will be the gathering of your pallet wood. If you’re new to tearing apart a pallet, check out this past post for a few tips.
For this project you will need 3 longer pieces of pallet wood cut however long you want your shelf.
To give you a starting point, the shelf pictured above is using 3 pieces of pallet wood about 4 “x 33″ and 2 pieces about 2″ x 3” for the ends. You may need to wait to cut those end pieces after first assembling the rest of your shelf.
Nail the longer pieces together first, then measure, cut and nail the end pieces.
The shelf is attached with screws into the studs in the wall. You could eyeball the shelf for levelness, but it’s a good idea to use a level if you have one.
Ready to load up all those trophies.
While I’m on the subject of displaying collectibles. Check out the shadowbox frame holding a collection of pocket knives directly below the trophy shelf.
The collection was started by my Mama who passed them down to my youngest.
We had adhered the knives to the backing with picture hanging adhesive putty but the heavier knives slipped. Ended up using hot glue which shouldn’t harm the knives and can be peeled off if necessary.
The pallet wood trophy shelf may not be my easiest pallet wood project ever but it is close. If you have a couple pieces of pallet wood still hanging around you may also like these…
Click on any of the pictures and it will take you directly to the DIY. I’d be surprised if any of these projects would take over an hour to complete, well maybe if you sat down and read a book and drank a cup of coffee halfway thru.
😀
Stay inspired and go out and find a pallet!

I really enjoy your posts. They give inspiration and the knowledge needed to do the project. Gotta run cause the pallets are calling.
Pallets are always calling my name!
