Pallet Wood Compass Rose

Back in April I was contacted by Stencil Revolution asking if I would like to try any of their stencils. After looking at their pages and pages of stencils I jumped at the chance and eventually chose a star stencil, a stencil of the United States and this compass stencil.
They have hundreds of designs and each comes in a bunch of sizes.
This is my last stencil to use. I’ll remind you of the other two projects at the end of this post.
This is an easy project. If you have pallet wood, you’re almost done.
The stencil I’m using is 20″ square, though they have 7 other sizes of the same stencil. The pallet wood is 25″ square.
It may not look like it, but half of the slats are painted gray and the other half white.
Nail or screw on cross braces on the back to hold all of your pallet wood together.
Center and tape the stencil in place. I moved mine up just slightly so that both the N and S wouldn’t be stuck between pallet pieces (now it’s just the N).
Use black paint and a stencil brush, blot off the excess paint, and dab away.
Pallet wood isn’t the smoothest wood for stenciling, so if there is a little bleed you may need to touch up.
I couldn’t resist hitting my final piece with the sander. You know I like that distressed, I left my sign out in the rain look.
From the same company that brought you the compass rose came these other two stencils.

Until next time, stay inspired.
