Soda Can and Pallet Wood Christmas Advent Calendar

Today I’m bringing back two of my old projects. They are teaming up for a Christmas advent calendar. First up, a pallet wood cubby organizer.
I first brought these shelves to you last March filled with mementos, souvenirs and other assorted junk. If you haven’t made a set, make sure you click on this link for the full tutorial. If you have access to pallet wood you can make these for FREE!
The second project, was the addition of these number labels . The number labels were originally made from aluminum soda cans.

It doesn’t take too much imagination to change these from simple knick knack shelves to an advent calendar.
Most advent calendars have 24 dates, but with 25 cubbys it’s easy to stretch this all the way to Christmas day.
A few of my boxes kept their original decor but most were filled with ornaments originally destined for the tree.
To each box, add a little chocolate (one for each of your kids) to help them count down the days until Christmas.
My dad’s baby shoes were part of the original shelves and they kept their place of honor.
I’ve had these angels at least 40 years. Normally they can be found on my tree but they work perfectly in the number 2 cubby.
I may be a little late for this year’s advent calendar, but hey, it’s never too late for chocolate.
