Upcycled Washtubs and an Old Door

Last weekend we had the pleasure of visiting my sister’s house for a pre-Memorial Day party.
So while I’m sitting on her deck, chowing down on taco dip, a beautiful assortment of cheeses and bruschetta (and that was all before dinner), I spy this cute little table in the corner.
Of course I had to get my camera out. And I’m pretty sure she didn’t notice me taking everything off the table and dismantling it just so I could take a before picture.
My sister and I have similar tastes in that we both see beauty in a beat up door and a washtub. But would you ever combine the two? She did, and it makes a super easy, super cool, and super unique serving table.
It’s a different take on the butcher block washtub table that I shared with you last week.
Same idea though, take off the top, add ice, beer and sodas and you have a terrific cooler for a party.
With the door on top, it’s a perfect sized serving table.
Also found at my sister’s house was this trio of rusty, junky, bird houses.
All have found cozy little spots to spruce up their little corners of the garden and all three have the perfect combination of aged barn wood and rust.
You can find directions to make your own junky birdhouse here.
I’m sure I could have found more projects, but for now it was back to the taco dip.
Stay inspired and have a beautiful weekend.

This is an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing at Link Party Palooza.
Cool ideas! That looks like the perfect height for a serving table, and I love the combo of unlikely items. And the birdhouses are awesome too, I especially like the last one pictured.

I think that washtub / door idea would make an awesome plant potting station, with all tools and things stashed inside. Cool idea!
That’s a great idea. You could easily put potting soil in one side and tools in the other.
Great idea! I have a double wash tub out in the barn, need to go get it out.
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!

So much better to use it as a serving table than to actually wash clothes.
Oh my gosh I SO want one! What a great idea!
This is just adorable! Love old doors and all the things you can do with them!
I LOVE this idea. I have the door but need to find some washtubs now. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Talk of the Town.
My kinda project… put it together in minutes, looks cool, and can reuse it for something else after! BINGO! Love this one, Joan! Featured you this weekend on DIY Salvaged Junk 333! 🙂
Thanks Donna. My kind of project too since I didn’t even have to put it together. I just got to take pictures.
