Upcycled Ten Pound Weights

Fixer Upper

I can’t believe it’s already the third Friday of the month, which means I’m guest posting over at My Repurposed Life.

But first, a few pictures to catch you up with what we’ve been working on. Over the last couple of weekends we’ve been helping my son and his wife with their new fixer upper.  That’s them in the picture above. Surprisingly enough, they seem very happy with the state of their new home even though it’s missing a few key things…like walls, plumbing, wiring, duct work.

The 50’s era pink and black bathroom is almost a thing of the past.  Beneath the rubble, I think there is still a pink tile floor.

And more than a little dust was created getting to the pipes and ductwork in the  basement ceiling.

Upcycled, Recycled Weights Book Ends

In all the demo, the only thing that we found (besides some wood) to upcycle were these 2, 10 pound weights, hiding beneath the front porch.

My first thought for the weights was the base of a lamp. I do like repurposed lamps but that’s not what I made.  To see what these  weights and the rusty metal they are sitting on turned into (can you guess?), make sure you visit me over at My Repurposed Life where I’m guest posting today.
