Burlap and Twine Farmhouse Wreath

Christmas is right around the corner and you have no time to start any new projects.  I totally understand, and that is why I’m bringing you a super easy DIY,  a burlap and twine wreath that can be used year round.

If you have all the supplies, it should take no more than 10 minutes to construct.  How is that for quick and easy?

I was working on two other furniture makeovers, but those can wait until you have more time.

These are the supplies you’ll need…a straw wreath, twine,  Burlap Craft Ribbon  and a hot glue gun.

I was lucky enough to have burlap leftover from son #1’s wedding and with a 24″ straw wreath  that I picked up at a thrift store I was ready to begin.

A smaller wreath will work just as well.

On the back of the wreath, with hot glue, tack down one end of your burlap ribbon and start wrapping.

When you come to the end of the ribbon, use more hot glue to tack it down in the back of the wreath.

Because my wreath was so large, I ended up using two rolls of the burlap ribbon.

With the twine, or jute, wrap around the wreath in the same way as the burlap.  Once you get to where you started, go back the opposite way, criscrossing  the twine as you go.

Finish the twine by tying to itself in the back.

Just find a nail and you’re ready to hang.

I’m showing you a couple options for hanging.  First, in the den.

I then moved the wreath into the kitchen.  I think that is where he is going to stay, at least for this holiday season.

You can find the shutter valence here.

If you want to dress the wreath up for any holiday, it’s super easy to add a little festive ribbon.

Have a great weekend.  Stay inspired.
