Planning a wedding? 30 Unique and Fun Table Numbers

30 Wedding Table Number Ideas for all styles of Weddings

This post is written for anyone planning a wedding any time soon and for my sweet daughter-in-law Mollie who is in the midst of planning a wedding with my middle son, Kevin.  Technically, she is already my daughter-in-law, having married my son three years ago in a small civil wedding.  I thought the day was perfect, but she always dreamed of a big beautiful wedding with all her friends and family and that is what brings us to table numbers.

I think I’m in charge of table numbers, but maybe it’s the centerpieces.

Wedding Pallet Wood Centerpiece

This is the centerpiece and table numbers I created for my oldest son and his wife three years ago so I must say I have a long  extensive, history with table numbers.  Anyway, she has come to the right person.

Glittery wedding table Number

For inspiration Mollie gave me this glittery cut out table number.  Did she buy a set already?  Normally, I don’t do glitter.

Seriously, in three years of projects, have you ever seen glitter?  My projects have splinters and rust.

What I know is this…the wedding will be in June, at a vineyard, in a barn, near water.

I needed to do some table number research. I’m not ready to expand my search into flower centerpieces just yet.

What I found while looking for table numbers is that the options are endless.  For as many weddings there have ever been, that’s about how many options you have. If you look up table numbers on ETSY you get 34,303 results of table number options.   Ebay wasn’t quite  as overwhelming with only 6,270 results.

With so many options, what’s a bride to do?  I say, make your own or get your mother-in-law to make them.

The following are some of my favorites that I found on Pinterest.  I tried to include the link to the original site in each photo wherever possible. If I couldn’t find the original picture I just threw you back to my Pinterest page.

Aged Wood Tag Table Number

This tag looks fairly easy to make and it has wood, rope, and peeling paint…perfect for a barn wedding.

Door Knob and Stencil Table Numbers

Door Knob and Stencils and I already have the doorknobs.

Getting the Dog in on the Act Table Number

Get their dog in on the action with photos of him holding the table number.

Heart Table Number inside Flowers

My daughter-in-law’s favorite flower is a Sunflower so I know she’ll love this centerpiece.  Only problem is that sunflowers are not really in season in June but I still love this cute heart shaped table number holder.

Jumbo Clothespin and Vintage Postcard Table Number

Jumbo clothespin holding a vintage postcard. You can find a set of 6 jumbo clothespins  at Amazon,Darice Bulk Buy 9191-98 Clothespin Spring, Pack of 6, 6-Inch Jumbo, Natural  … and stamp or stain them.

Moss Table Number

Not into making your own moss covered numbers?  I found a listing on etsy here.

Photo Table Numbers

This is such a cute idea, use pictures of the wedding couple at age 1, age 2….

Photos of the Wedding Couple Holding the Table Numbers

Or have the couple posing with the table numbers.

Postcards and Doorknobs Table Numbers

Vintage doorknobs and postcards?  I know I could make a set of these.

Table Number Napkins

This is probably the most expensive option I’ve included…napkins with the table numbers imprinted on them.

Table Number on a Pallet Wood Box

This one is right up my alley, is that a pallet wood box and a chalkboard?

Water side Wedding Buoy Table Numbers

These would be fantastic for a seaside or waterside wedding…and yes you can make them yourself.  Remember my buoys from back in June?

Wedding Table Numbers in White Frames with burlap

If you like these frames you can find the full tutorial here.

White washed barn wood Table Number

Very simple and elegant, whitewashed barn wood.

Wine Bottle and Chalkboard Table Numbers

Since the wedding is at a vineyard, it makes sense to include a wine bottle as part of the table decoration.  Here it is paired with a cute little chalkboard.  Love how it looks with the lantern.

Wine Label Table Number

Wine bottle labels are widely available on Etsy or make your own.

Wooden spool Table Numbers

I already have a bunch of bobbins and I love how they look with the homemade paper.

Wood and Nails Wedding Table Number

This wood and nails table number was from a wedding we went to last year. Of course I had to take a picture.

After looking at all these table numbers I was inspired to do a few myself so the next ten are my creations. Keep in mind that I’m not a professional wedding photographer and I was playing around with things I had around the house.

Chalkboard Wine Bottle Wedding Table Number

Super easy DIY, just spray a wine bottle with black chalkboard paint and add some twine.

Chalkboard Paint Gold Paint wedding table number
Use the same chalkboard painted wine bottle, add a cork and the precut numbers Mollie originally gave me and finish with some gold  Rub ‘n Buff.  Just spread a little on your finger and spread on the bottle. You can buy it at a local craft store or Amazon carries it here…AMACO Rub ‘n Buff Wax Metallic Finish, Antique Gold, 0.5-Fluid Ounce

Cut out Book Unique Wedding Table Number This was a fun one to make, cut a table number from an old novel…not one you’re planning to read any time soon.
Metal Letters on Wine Bottle Wedding Table Number

I did absolutely nothing for this table number, the bottle from Antigal Winery already comes with a metal number attached.  Unfortunately the winery only makes the number 1.   All other table numbers would have to be glued onto the bottles.
Wedding Couple Photo Unique Table Numbers

How about a framed photo of the happy couple edited with the table number.

Driftwood Wedding Table Number

I know my DIL loves driftwood and if she picks this one, I could probably find some better pieces.

Upcycled Vintage Mortise Lock wedding Table Number

This is the inside of an old vintage mortise lock.  I’ve done shelves with mortise locks but I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve done a wedding table number.

Vintage Bottle and Cardboard Stencil Wedding Table Number

Vintage postcard  printed on tissue paper, modpodged to an old bottle, add wire, beads and a cardboard stencil.

Vintage Number Flash Card Wedding Table Number

This is a framed vintage number flash card that I had when I was a kid.  If you look closely you can see Huckleberry Hound and if you put all the numbers together in order you would have a picture of a train.

Wood slice Wedding Table Number

Another super easy table number, a wood slice with a nailed on number.

I don’t think I could choose just one and I’m sure whatever Mollie chooses will be absolutely perfect since she has great taste.  After all, she did choose my son. 🙂
